MIDDLE SCHOOL PROMPTS

Perhaps you didn’t know you have a Disney side. In this Disney Parks television commercial, you’ll find an older man who shows his Disney side by becoming a Disney character—but at an awkward moment!

Which Disney princess, hero, or character are you most like?

Okay, maybe you don’t have a Disney side, but you most likely share characteristics of a number of fictional characters. Think of the four Pevensie children in C. S. Lewis’s Narnia tales. Are you most like Peter (logical, a leader), Susan (strong fighter, doubter), Edmund (easily persuaded to do wrong, led by his stomach), or Lucy (loyal, loving, misunderstood)?

Middle School Writing Prompt - We all have a Disney side--so says the TV ad. If so, which character are you most like? Or choose another set of characters and explain why you are like one of them. #homeschool #homeschoolwriting #middleschoolhomeschool #writingprompts

Or maybe you’re like one of A. A. Milne’s creations in the Winnie-the-Pooh series:

  • the lovable but fuzzy-brained Pooh,
  • the vulnerable but brave Piglet,
  • the exuberant Tigger,
  • the organized Rabbit,
  • the youthful Roo,
  • the motherly Kanga,
  • the talkative Owl,
  • the negative Eeyore,
  • or the helpful and friendly Christopher Robin.

What about the cast of characters in the book or movie version of The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien? Which of those characters seems most like you?

Each set of characters in any book or movie seem real to us because we know people like them or because they remind us of ourselves. What character do you act like or think like? Which character has gone through things you’ve gone through? Which character shares similarities with you?

Now it’s your turn: Write down the character that is most like you. Then, in one paragraph, explain what you and that character share in common. Show why you are like that character (or why that character is like you). Use at least one example or story from your life.
